Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie wanting to jump off Sky Tower or more of a hiker wanting to conquer one of the 50 volcano peaks sprinkled around the city, there is something for everyone. A city full of amazing events, epic festivals, and unforgettable concerts all year round, visiting once isn’t enough.

Sky Jump the Sky Tower

Paris has The Eifel Tower, New York has The Statue of Liberty, and what does Auckland have? That’s right… we have the famous Sky Tower. For $32 per adult, check out the 360-degree amazing city views. For the daredevils with a little extra to spend, a sky jump would be your favourite way down; leap off the tower and fall 192 metres straight down. For those wanting to take in the spectacular views minus the falling, the famous Sky Walk allows you to go for a nice little stroll… around the 1.2 metre wide platform at the top of the Sky Tower with no handrails and some adrenaline filled activities to get your heart racing.

Hike up Mt. Eden

What’s Auckland famous for? Yes… you guessed it… volcanoes! If you’re looking for an easy walk with the best city views, Mount Eden is your answer! Only a 2km hike, it will take you around 1 hour to complete. If walking isn’t your thing, don’t worry, you can hop on a public bus or drive up, it’s that easy!

Auckland Domain

Take a stroll, have a picnic, fly a kite or chill out in Auckland’s magnificent, oldest inner city park. There are lots of things you can see in Auckland Domain, there’s the Wintergardens, Auckland Museum, or feed the ducks. Not only one of the largest parks in Auckland, it’s also developed around the cone of an extinct… VOLCANO! Just around the corner, only a 5 minute walk from Zest OK Auckland, it’s a must do!

Mission Bay

Love the Beach? You’ll love Mission Bay! Only a 20-minute drive from the city centre, you’ll find yourself in the centre of awesome cafes and restaurants, a buzzing atmosphere and amazing views. Simply relax and explore the surrounds or lounge all day on the beach!

If you feel like cycling, you can choose to depart from Zest OK Auckland, or hire a bike there’s cycle paths from the city along the Tamaki Drive Promenade to Mission Bay a great way to get exercise as well as taking in Auckland’s beautiful scenic harbour.

Looking for something different? Well you can’t get more unique that Lord of the Fries! 100% vegan, 100% pant based, this ethical fast food restaurant serves award winning burgers, hotdogs and of course, mouth-watering fries. Vegan, vegetarian or meat eater?? Trust us, you’ll love this too! By foot only 12 mins head along Grafton Bridge they are located on Karangahape Road in Shop 2, St Kevins Arcade.

K’ Road

A short walk from Zest OK Auckland you’ll find yourself in Auckland’s iconic K’ Road (short for Karangahape Road if you’re looking at street signs). A road famous for its diverse culture, vintage and streetwear stores, unique cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. It is a hive of activity, a place to enjoy good food is at Bestie Café and try their delicious flatbread, well worth a visit.

If you’re looking for an epic night out, K’ Road by night offers an equally diverse range of range of entertainment; Cabaret-style restaurant, karaoke bars, popular clubs and local pubs with live music; there’s plenty to choose from.

Waiheke Island

Escape city life and head to Waiheke Island for an unforgettable day trip. Catch Fullers 360 ferry and enjoy 40 minutes of beautiful views of Auckland CBD and Rangitoto, Motutapu and Motuihe Islands. If you love wine, beaches and hiking, this is the island for you! Check out the many vineyards and cellar doors, and do a little wine tasting (it’s what Waiheke is famous for… it will be a crime to skip this); try the local eateries, chill out at Oneroa Beach or go for a little hike. With so much to see and do, plan your trip in advance.

Rangitoto Island

If you have a few days in Auckland, we can’t recommend Rangitoto Island enough. The youngest island in the Hauraki Gulf and the last and largest volcano to be formed in Auckland. Explore the lava fields, where heat can still be felt, incredible views, lava caves, and beautiful beaches. What more could you ask for?

Day trips to the island take the Fullers 360 ferry for $39 adult (return) from the Ferry terminal and be ready for a great day.

Tip: Be sure to pack a water and snacks and wear good closed toe shoes. Last ferry back is at 4.30pm on weekdays and 5pm during the weekend and public holidays. Whatever you do, don’t miss the last ferry off the island or expect to pay a very expensive water taxi to come and get you.
